For my first card I used some new stamps and dies from the:

I did a little soft ink blending with Catherine Pooler inks and some blending brushes for the background of this water themed card.  The stamping was super easy using a mix of blues for the waves and bright Samba red for the crabs.

How about a shaker card using that awesome Ship's Wheel die and Big Sur Sequin Mix.   I simply used one of Catherine Pooler's Circle Dies to cut out the center of this wheel to create a shaker element.  Did you know....Catherine Pooler's patterned papers are designed to coordinate perfectly with her ink colors?  This card is a great example of that.

It was a whole lot of fun filling up this little section of my card with stamped fish, seahorses, starfish and bubbles.   A little dimensional tape makes it look like they're floating!

I did some ink smushing and watercoloring using a mix of blue Catherine Pooler inks.  Starting with the lightest blue I just layered different shades until I achieve the desired ocean affect.  I stamped and colored right over the background using the darkest shade, Juniper Mist.

Paper:  Premium White Cardstock

Ship's Wheel Die

Ship's Wheel with a little rope makes a great focal point for this nautical card.  A few shells stamped in two layers were added on top of a colorful Woodgrain background.

Hello Mini Cover Plate!

Hi friends!  It's Friday and I'm winding down the week with another card made with that awesome new

 Hello Mini Cover Plate Die by Catherine Pooler Designs.   

This is a two layer die set that cuts a solid layer and then the  Hello word layer.  You can use them together or separately on the front of your card.  You can embellish around it or simply use it on it's own for a beautiful clean and simple look.    The letters alone can also be added to a card or would work great as an inlay.  So many possibilities with this one die set!

For my card today I decided to layer it up!  I cut the Hello layer twice, once in white and then out of a beautiful plaid pattern from Catherine Pooler's Sum-Sum Summertime 6x6" paper pack.   I ink blended the white layer with some of Catherine's Melon Ice ink.  I cut the solid layer die from the dark gray Smoke Cardstock, then I adhered them all together.  By offsetting the Melon Ice layer I was able to create a shadow affect.  Tilting the hello layers over the gray made it a little whimsical and fun.

Dies:  Hello Mini Cover Plate, Sprinkles Mini Cover Plate, Nested Labels (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Ink:  Melon Ice (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Paper:  Sum-Sum Summertime, Smoke and Mirrors Cardstock, Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Accessories:  Charleston Mix (Catherine Pooler Designs), natural twine.

I added one more layer in white, underneath the Hello layer using a die from Catherine Pooler's new Sprinkles Mini Cover Plate die set.  I love the pierced dot edging on that die and I think it frames the Hello beautifully.   I chose a coordinating pattern of Melon Ice colored music notes from the Sum-Sum Summertime paper pack and cut a Nested Labels die from it.  I then added a piece of that diecut to each end. 

I finished this card up by wrapping it up in a natural twine bow and added some sparkle with some sequins from Catherine Pooler's beautiful new Charleston Mix.

For my first card, I used a blender pen and a whole array of colors from the Catherine Pooler Design's ink collection.   I don't think I've ever had as much fun coloring as I did with this

 I Scream You Scream stamp set.  I just wanted to play with every image!

Stamps:  I Scream You Scream, Milestone Birthday Sentiment Mix (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Ink:  It's a Girl, Coral Cabana, Fiesta Blue, Melon Ice, Samba, Twilight, Bellini, Sand Castle, Over Coffee, Black Jack, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs), clear emboss (Versamark).

Paper:  Sum-Sum Summertime, Premium White Cardstock, Smoke and Mirrors Cardstock, Midnight Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Accessories:  I Scream You Scream Coordinating Dies,  Charleston Mix (Catherine Pooler Designs), white embossing powder (WOW!), dimensional tape.

I love to add shadows and texture with blender pens.

Bomb pops!!  Yes!  I have loved those red white and blue treats since I was a little girl.  Melon Ice paper and sequins...cold.....as...ice!!!

I love popsicles but when it comes to ice cream I want it all.  I want the cone, the sprinkles and a big cherry on top!   I made this card using the 3 Scoops Stamp and Die set.

Ink:  Mint to Be, It's a Girl, Over Coffee, Samba, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Paper:  Sum-Sum Summertime, Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).

I used the new Sprinkles Mini Cover Plate die to cut out some little sprinkles for this cool treat.

My first card features the awesome Hello Mini Cover Plate die.  This two piece die set is great for layering like I did here.   I thought it would be fun to create a pool scene by lining this card with a rainbow of colorful flip flops from the 

Sunscreen Required stamp set.

Stamps: Sunscreen Required, I Scream You Scream (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Ink:  Coral Cabana, Samba, Tiki Torch, Orange Twist, Tiara, Garden Party, Fiesta Blue, It's a Boy, Sweet Sixteen (Catherine Pooler Designs), clear emboss (Versamark).

Paper:  Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs) 140 lb watercolor cardstock (Canson).

Accessories:  white embossing powder (WOW!).

I like to create thick chipboard pieces for dimension by cutting underlayers from 140 lb watercolor cardstock and gluing them to the back of my diecuts.

While some of us are poolside, the rest of us are heading to the beach!   Either way we all know.....Sunscreen Required!!  

I stamped these adorable little polka dot bikinis using a tone on tone technique.  Stamping the polka dot layer the same color as the bottom layer works great!  Don't forget your shovel and shades!

Ink:  Coral Cabana, Sweet Sixteen, Garden Party, Black Jack, Fiesta Blue, Sand Castle, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Popping these sweet little images up with foam tape really helps to make them the focal point on this clean and simple card.

Into the woods with Catherine Pooler's Wild About You stamp set.

Hey friends!  I'm stopping by today to share another cool masculine card using the awesome 

Father's Day Bundle from Catherine Pooler Designs.

I'm totally hooked on making woodsy scenes with that awesome bear using the following tips:

• I started off with some ink blending on the left side of the card using Catherine Pooler Design's Sage and a little touch of Rouge ink.  
•  Then I did some generation stamping with the tree from Wild About You stamp set, Sage and Spruce ink, to add depth to the woods.   It makes the trees look like they are fading off into the background.  
• I also stamped the tree at different levels which creates tall trees and short trees out of one stamp.
• After stamping the bear from the Wild About You stamp set,   I did a little distressing by adding water drops and some Black Jack ink splatters. 
• I stamped the sentiment  from the Hey Mister stamp set in Midnight ink, then cut the panel using a stitched edge die from Catherine Pooler's Postage Stamps die set.

To create the circle embellishment on this card:

• I diecut a small circle from vellum cardstock using Catherine Pooler's Circles dies.
• I wrapped some natural white hemp cord in a circle and glued to the vellum circle.
• Then I stamped and diecut the arrows and a paw print from the Wild About You stamp set and added them to the center of the circle using dimensional tape.
• I finished this card by layering the stamped panel onto a Sage ink blended panel cut from the largest Postage Stamp die along with a strip of patterned plaid paper coming from Catherine Pooler's  Lumberjack paper pad onto a white A2 size card base.

Stamps:  Wild About You, Hey Mister (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Ink:  Sage, Spruce, Black Jack, Midnight, Icing on the Cake.

Paper:  Lumberjack Patterned Paper, Premium White Cardstock, Vellum cardstock(Catherine Pooler Designs).

Accessories:  natural white hemp cord

Today I'm working with the

Father's Day Bundle

I chose this bundle because, like a lot of card makers, I desperately needed to add some masculine stamps to my stash.  With a family filled with nephews, brothers and brother-in-laws, I find that I really struggle with making those "guy" cards.  I admit, I enjoy water coloring flowers and playing with glitter a little too much but my guys need cards too.  So let's take a look at what this Father's Day Bundle can do.

First.....I must pay homage to that fabulous Buffalo Plaid Background stamp!!  My absolute favorite!!!  My first card sports a whole background stamped in the new Queen for a Day ink.  That gorgeous ink is actually a really deep purple with blue tones.  It looks almost navy here next to the black cardstock.  

I did some simple stamping and die cutting of the animal figures from the Wild About You set, cut out a circle, then added a black border along with a Midnight black sentiment from the new Hey Mister stamp set.

Stamps:  Wild About You, Hey Mister, Buffalo Plaid (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Ink:  Queen for a Day, Midnight, Twilight, Over Coffee, Sand Castle (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Paper:  Midnight, Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Accessories:   Circles Dies (Catherine Pooler Designs).   twine, gold Gellyroll glitter pen.

Using my T-square ruler I added thin stripes of glitter pen to the plaid background for a little extra pop.  Even masculine cards can shine!

For my next card I put those new ink colors to the test by blending a background on some of 

Catherine Pooler Design's Premium White Cardstock.  I started at the top with Queen for a Day then blended it into Rouge, then Lemongrass.  The Rouge and Lemongrass blended together to create a pretty shade of orange.  I threw on a splash of water to lift some of the ink for a starry effect.

To create the silhouette strips across the bottom, I did some partial die cutting on Midnight cardstock using the trees and wolf dies from the Wild About You coordinating die set.  It's great to be able to use these dies on their own for a completely different look.

Stamps:  Wild About You (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Ink:  Queen for a Day, Rouge, Lemongrass, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Paper:  Midnight, Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Accessories:  Motor City Sequin Mix, Circles Dies (Catherine Pooler Designs).

I topped this card off with some of Catherine Pooler's new Motor City Sequin Mix.

Finally, I did some really simple stamping and die cutting to create a little woodsy scene with that fabulous Wild About You set.  Seriously, living up here by Chicago, we're in Bear country and I know this little bear is going to get a good workout.   He's so cute!!!  And yea....paw prints are adorable!  That gorgeous plaid is from the 6x6"  Lumberjack Patterned Paper pack.

Stamps:  Wild About You (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Ink:  Sage, Rouge, Spruce, Juniper Mist, Icing on the Cake, Sand Castle and Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Paper:  Lumberjack Patterned Paper, Premium White Cardstock.

Accessories:  Nested Label Dies, Circles Dies (Catherine Pooler Designs).

Let me just point out.....this sweet little bent arrow.  Too cute!!
