Colorful Wild Blooms with Catherine Pooler Ink - Yes Thank You!

Hi everyone,  I just thought I'd pop in today to share a card I made a while back using those fabulous
Catherine Pooler Designs inks.  This is a super easy and quick card but it really packs a punch with all those brilliant colors.   The Wild Bloom stamps so clean and crisp!  I was able to fit three different bold colors into this card:  Aquatini, Bellini and Tutti Frutti.  The large Midnight black thank you sentiment from Catherine Pooler's
Still Smiling stamp set really pops in the center of this card.

Stamps: Wild Bloom, Still Smiling (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Ink: Aquatini, Tutti Frutti, Bellini, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Paper:  Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories:  Merry Labels Dies (Stamp of Approval Candy Cane Lane Collection/CAS-ual Fridays), clear sequins, bakers twine, craft foam.

I could have left this a beautiful one layer card but I wanted to add just a little dimension.   I diecut the center with the
Merry Labels Die and popped up a little with some craft foam underneath.  I topped it off with some black and white twine to set off the black sentiment and a few clear sequins for sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!!

My Favorite Puperoni turns 7!

Today I'd like to give a shout out to this little guy for turning 7!!

It's hard to believe my great nephew Drue is 7 years old already!  It seems like just yesterday.......

We celebrated on Sunday by going to watch him race in the state BMX competition.  He won a trophy almost as big as he is!  Then we took him out to dinner to his favorite restaurant.  I'm thinking....burgers....pizza maybe.....  But NO!  This big 7 year old wanted to go out for Japanese!  How did he know that's my favorite place too?

He likes to watch the chefs cook at the table.   He has mastered chopsticks and even ate his birthday ice cream with them.  He loves rice, veggies and steak, no wonder he has grown so fast!  He also loved it when the staff all came out and sang happy birthday to him.

This year he really liked the card I made for him too.  Boy cards are hard for me but this lil' pup from Simon Says Stamp made it super easy this time.  They offered this stamp as a free birthday gift last month.  So cute! I stamped the pup and the pizza with The Ton's Copic friendly Couture Caviar Hybrid ink then used Copic markers to color both images.

Stamps: Favorite Puperoni (Simon Says Stamp), Birthday Wishes & Balloons, Birthday Chalkboard Greetings (My Favorite Things).
Ink:  Fiesta Blue, Tiara, Lime Rickey (Catherine Pooler Designs), Caviar Hybrid (The Ton), Tumbled Glass Distress, Barn Door Distress, Pumice Stone Distress marker (Ranger), Copic markers.
Paper:  Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs), Lipstick Red cardstock (Simon Says Stamp).
Accessories:  Double Stitched Rectangle Large dies (The Ton), dimensional tape (3M), Action Wobbles Mini (Art Impressions).

I used one of Catherine Pooler's new stencils: Checker Board for the table cloth and those little balloons are from the Birthday Wishes and Balloons set by My Favorite Things.  I just drew the strings on with a grey distress marker.

I also added some fun action to this card to hold this little boy's attention for a little while.  I attached an Art Impressions Action Wobbles piece to the center back of the puppy.  Now when you flick his tail he shakes.  It surprised me when Drue squeeled and started flicking away!  He thought it was so cool.  All I can say is he made his favorite card making aunt very happy!

Happy Birthday to my little puperoni Drue!
I love you!

I also embellished this card with two of The Ton's new Couture mixes:

Deck the Halls Couture Mix

https://www.thetonstamps.com/products/deck-the-halls-couture-mix

And the yummy new mix that is one of the gift with purchase incentives:

 Sugar Cookie Couture Mix

If you have been following along with The Ton's Release Week:  Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 and Day 4,  you have seen some amazing cards made with the Scenes: Fireplace Cling Background stamp.  There is also many new accessory stamps and die sets that fit with this background perfectly!  For my card today I used four of them.  How fun it is to mix and match and build a fun holiday scene!

After stamping the background with The Ton's Copic friendly Caviar ink, I stamped some little accessories from the Fireplace Holiday Accessories directly onto the mantle.  Then I colored the whole one layer background with Copic markers.

Stamps and dies:  Scenes: Fireplace Cling Background, Fireplace Holiday Accessories, Fireplace Accessories, Holiday Ballet, City Girls Snowday.
Ink:  Caviar, Deep Emerald (The Ton), Copic markers.
Paper:  solar white cardstock 80 lb and 110 lb (Neenah).
Accessories:  Sugar Cookie Couture Mix and Deck the Halls Couture Mix.

I wanted to pop up a few pieces to add dimension to this card so I separately stamped and colored the Christmas tree and the girl from the City Girls Snow Day stamp set.

Since my tree was going to be on the right side of the card, I needed the chair to be on the left so I used the chair from the Fireplace Accessories stamp set.  The good news is that all of these sets have coordinating dies available in the shop for your convenience.  Unfortunately I didn't have them for this card so I cut out my pieces by hand,  then popped them up with dimensional tape.

For my first card today I used The Ton's brand new scene builder stamps:

Scenes: Fireplace

https://www.thetonstamps.com/products/scenes-fireplace

Fireplace Accessories

https://www.thetonstamps.com/products/fireplace-accessories

Fireplace Holiday Accessories

https://www.thetonstamps.com/products/fireplace-holiday-accessories

City Girls Winter Edition

https://www.thetonstamps.com/products/city-girls-winter-edition

I have to admit, this it the funnest day of the week for me.  I absolutely love these scene builders and the
City Girls Winter Edition set is adorable!!   The sentiments are so fun too.  For this card I stamped the
Scenes: Fireplace in The Ton's Smoky Quartz die ink.  I wanted to keep the background muted so that my little City Girl could be the star of the show.  I don't have the coordinating dies for these sets yet but they are available and definitely at the top of my wish list.  For now I hand cut the wreath and "boots" from the Fireplace Holiday Accessories set.  The boots are actually stockings but I thought they'd look cute as Santa's boots.  The rug from the
Fireplace Accessories set is the perfect place to house a sentiment so I hand cut that too.

Stamps and Dies:  Scenes:Fireplace, Fireplace Accessories, Fireplace Holiday Accessories, City Girls Winter Edition, Minor Stripes Cling Background, Double Stitched Rectangle dies (Large) (TheTon).
Ink:  Smokey Quartz, Noir, Caviar (The Ton), Copic Markers.
Paper:  solar white (Neenah).
Accessories:  Deck the Halls Couture Mix, clear embossing powder, craft foam.

The little lady from the City Girls Winter Edition was colored with Copic markers and also hand cut.

For my second card we're going to the:

Holiday Ballet

On both cards today I also used the beautiful new:

Deck the Halls Couture Mix

https://www.thetonstamps.com/products/deck-the-halls-couture-mix

I think this is my favorite card and the Holiday Ballet stamp set is my favorite from this collection.  I really love the magic of the Nutcracker ballet and this card was so fun and easy to make.  I stamped and embossed the tree on Bristol watercolor paper with silver embossing powder.  Then I stamped the ballerina and added the little nutcracker with
The Ton's  Copic safe Caviar ink.   I watercolored the tree with Zig Kuretake Real Brush Markers and water, then colored the ballerina with Copic markers and hand cut.

Stamps and dies:  Holiday Ballet, Double Stitched Rectangle (Large) (The Ton).
Ink:  Caviar, Noir (The Ton), clear emboss (Versamark), Zig Kuretake Real Brush Markers.
Paper:  Silver Glitter Adhesive Paper (The Ton), white watercolor (Bristol), solar white 110 lb cardstock (Neenah).
Accessories:  Deck the Halls Couture Mix (The Ton), silver embossing powder, clear embossing powder , dimensional tape. .

I popped the ballerina up with some dimensional tape so it looks like she is mid-leap.

For most card makers Christmas comes early.  We like to start working on our cards in September or October so that we can take our time and put our best into each card we send out for the holidays.  One of the techniques I get the most compliments on from my friends and family is watercoloring.  What better images to water color than the beautiful florals from The Ton?  I was so happy to see that some gorgeous new Poinsettia stamps and dies are being added in this release.  I'm showcasing two of them today.

Cozy Poinsettia

https://www.thetonstamps.com/collections/new-arrivals-1

I started by heat embossing this beautiful spray of Cozy Poinsettias in gold on some 140 lb watercolor paper.  This poinsettia spray lines the top and bottom of a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" card perfectly.  I colored these flowers with my Zig Kuretake Real Brush watercolor markers and water.   The Ton's Modern Labels stamp and dies were used to house that finely scripted sentiment.

Stamps and dies:  Cozy Poinsettia, Modern Labels stamps and dies (The Ton).
Ink:  Hampton White Pigment Ink (The Ton), Zig Kuretake Real Brush Markers.
Paper:  watercolor 140 lb (Canson), solar white (Neenah).
Accessories:  gold embossing powder, dimensional tape.

I changed it up a little by doing some selective stamping by putting the "Merry" over the "Christmas".   The Modern Label is popped up with a little dimensional tape.

For my next card I used the stunning:

Poinsettia Close Up

https://www.thetonstamps.com/collections/new-arrivals-1
The Poinsettia Close Up is a 6x6" rubber cling background stamp.  The Ton has another close up floral stamp in their collection and I've seen so many amazing creations with it.  So, when I saw this poinsettia I was super excited.  I can just imagine what my mother will feel when she opens her Christmas card to reveal this beauty!

I embossed this card with silver embossing powder, then watercolored the purple with Ken Oliver Color Bursts in Orchid.  I've been watching Effie use Color Bursts for a while now so I thought I'd give them a try.  The color is so vibrant.  Did you know The Ton carries in them in their shop?  Give them a try, I think you'll love them!   For the smaller green areas I used a Zig Kuretake Real Brush Watercolor markers.

Stamps and dies:  Poinsettia Close Up Cling Background, Good Tidings Cluster, Holiday Word dies (The Ton).
Ink:  Hampton White Pigment ink (The Ton), Ken Oliver Colorbursts, Zig Kuretake Real Brush Markers.
Paper:  Silver Adhesive Foil Paper (The Ton), water color 140 lb (Canson), solar white 110 lb (Neenah), vellum cardstock.
Accessories:  Milky Way Couture Mix (The Ton), silver embossing powder, silver string.

For the silver embossed sentiment I used the:

Good Tidings Cluster

The Good Tidings Cluster stamp set is one of the incentive "gifts with purchase" sets being offered with this release.  It won't actually go on sale in The Ton shop until October.   I embellished this card with the "merry" from The Ton's Holiday Word die set and some small sequins from this beautiful new mix:

Milky Way Couture Mix
https://www.thetonstamps.com/collections/new-arrivals-1

They really add some bling to this card!

Ho, ho, ho!!  For the rest of the week we'll be celebrating Christmas!  The Ton has some amazing new holiday stamps with coordinating dies and I can't wait to show them to you.  Today I have two cards using two of these festive beauties.  Both of them are layered sets.  For the first one I used:

Christmas Wreath Builder

https://www.thetonstamps.com/collections/new-arrivals-1

This 6x8" set stamps a gorgeous layered pine wreath and a few added elements including a layered poinsettia, holly leaves, pine cones, branches and berries and a big layered bow.  The wreath is a big 3" in diameter so it will definitely command center stage on your card.  The bow is 1 3/4" long.  Here I paired it with The Ton's Minor Stripes Cling Background for a festive, traditional look.  I hand cut this wreath because I don't have the die but it worked out well for a place to house the sentiment.

Stamps and dies:  Christmas Wreath Builder, Minor Stripes Cling Background, Double Stitched Rectangle dies (Large) (The Ton).
Ink:  Valentine Red, Plumb Wine, Deep Emerald, Basil Mojito, Aspen Cocoa, Everglade Moss (The Ton).  Old Paper Distress (Ranger), clear emboss (Versamark).
Paper:  Silver Glitter Adhesive Paper (The Ton), solar white 80 lb and 110 lb cardstock (Neenah).
Accessories:  Frosted Spearmint Couture Mix, clear embossing powder, clear glitter embossing powder, gold glitter pen (Gellyroll), dimensional tape.

I layered some glitter embossing powder over this wreath for some sparkle and shine.

On both of my cards today I used The Ton's brand new:

Frosted Spearmint Couture Mix

https://www.thetonstamps.com/collections/new-arrivals-1

For my next card I stayed with the traditional Christmas colors using another new layered stamp set:

Holly Branch

https://www.thetonstamps.com/collections/new-arrivals-1

This 6x6 set gives you the option of layering but it also has an outline image that you can color with your markers if you like.  I honestly love the option of quickly stamping the color onto the holly.   I'll be making more of these, assembly line style  this Christmas season.

Before stamping on this card I lightly blended some distress ink in two opposite corners.  Then I just stamped right over the blended ink using inks from The Ton.  Another thing I love about this set are the 5 sentiment choices.   This one fits perfectly in the small die from The Ton's Large Double Stitched Rectangle dies.

Stamps and Dies:  Holly Branch, Christmas Wreath Builder, Double Stitched Rectangles (Large) (The Ton).
Ink:  Noir, Deep Emerald, Everglade Moss, Aspen Cocoa, Spiced Chai, Valentine Red, Plum Wine (The Ton).  Old Paper Distress (Ranger).
Paper:  solar white 110 lb cardstock (Neenah).
Accessories:  New Years Mix (The Ton), clear embossing powder, craft foam.

And there's that beautiful bow again!!

 How to Win:

To qualify, you must leave a comment on The Ton's Daily Release posts. Leave a comment on each Design Team member's blogs to increase your chances of winning.
