Catherine Pooler Winter Release Bloghop

Hi everyone and welcome to the

  Winter Release Blog Hop

featuring a ton of brand new products by Catherine Pooler Designs.

https://shop.catherinepooler.com/collections/new/?aff=9

This week Catherine released three brand new collections in her online store so today we're celebrating by hopping along to get a closer look!   If you've been following along with Catherine you've seen all of these fun new products in her videos and on social media.  This is a HUGE triple release folks!  So many fabulous new stamps and dies, two new paper packs, a stencil  and a sparkly new sequin mix.  All of these products mentioned today are AVAILABLE NOW in the Catherine Pooler Designs shop   so you can follow the links any time to get your shop on!

Today I am working with two of the new collections.  You can buy each of these items individually or they are available in a big bundle at a discounted sale price for a limited time.  Better get those wish lists in to Santa pronto!!

Introducing:

This card started out with some Smitten Patterned Paper for the front panel.  I diecut the center with the new Love Connection Dies to house the "love you" sentiment from the Say it with Love Stamp Set.

Stamps: Say it with Love, Doodle Hearts (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Ink:  Black Jack (Catherine Pooler Designs), clear emboss (Versamark).
Paper:  Smitten Patterned Paper, Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories: Love Connection Dies, Inspiration Point Sequins (Catherine Pooler Designs), Wanderlust embossing powder (WOW!), silver cord, dimensional tape.

I created a sparkly background by stamping and embossing some Doodle Hearts Stamps using some of WOW!'s  Wanderlust embossing powder.  I accessorized with some pretty pink Inspiration Point sequins and some silver cord.

My next card was featured on Catherine's YouTube video featuring the Smitten Collection.  I did some ink blending on the background using the beautiful new Rose Stencil.  That fabulous sentiment is from the Doodle Hearts Stamp set.  I stamped it in Catherine Pooler's Midnight ink and then gave it a light shadow by coloring the words, slightly offset with a gray Copic Marker.
Stamps: Doodle Hearts (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Ink: It's A Girl, Shea Butter, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs), Copic Marker C-1.
Paper:  Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories:  Rose Stencil, Love Connection Dies (Catherine Pooler Designs), Morning Dew Nuvo Drops, glitter pen (Wink of Stella), fun foam.

I also colored every other heart in the Love Connection dies to make it pop.

Introducing:

Cake and Confetti Collection Bundle

I've been biting at the bit to show off this bundle of goodies!  First....the Cake and Confetti Patterned paper pack...WOW!  Every sheet of paper in this pack is awesome.  Here I used the sheet of stars.   Just a strip across the top, color coordinated with all of the little Birthday Icon cakes was enough to pull this whole card together.
Stamps:  Birthday Icons, Milestone Birthday Sentiments, Milestone Birthday Numbers (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Ink:  It's a Girl, Daydream, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs), clear emboss (Versamark), Copic markers.
Paper:  Cake and Confetti, black, Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories:  Birthday Icons dies (Catherine Pooler Designs),  white embossing powder (WOW!) dimensional tape.

And how cool are these sentiment stamps?  What a brilliant and fun concept to count the days instead of the years.  Your friends will do a double take when they are faced with the thousands of days they are celebrating.  Have you done the math yet?  How many years is 10,950 days?

And finally, what better way to celebrate 21 years than with 21 candles from the Milestone Birthday Icons stamp set?  This card could work for a young man or woman and the Milestone Birthday Numbers are a great way to personalize your cards.
Stamps:  Milestone Birthday Sentiments, Milestone birthday Numbers, Birthday Icons (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Ink:  Samba, Tiara, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs),  clear emboss (Versamark), Copic Markers.
Paper:  Cake and Confetti, black, Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories:  Birthday Icons dies, Milestone Birthdays dies (Catherine Pooler Designs), Red Berry Nuvo drops, white embossing powder (WOW!), dimensional tape.

Christmas cards using patterned paper - Love, Doves & Poinsettias

Hi everyone!  I just thought I'd pop in and brighten up Monday a little with a few Christmas cards I made over the weekend.

Anyone that follows me knows that I don't use patterned paper very often in my cardmaking.  I generally stick with creating my own hand stamped and colored patterns as I need them.  It's not that I don't love a good patterned paper stack.  I actually have a beautiful collection of them that I hoard in my craft room and simply can't bring myself to take the scissors to.    I know, I know.....it's just paper.  But I admit, once I start cutting, I'm committing myself to using it and then I start to sweat.   Knowing how to mix patterns and accessorize them can be challenging and a little intimidating.

Well, this weekend I committed myself and challenged myself to using up as much patterned paper as I could from Catherine Pooler's new Christmas paper stack:

https://shop.catherinepooler.com/collections/new/products/love-doves-poinsettias-patterned-paper/?aff=9

For my first card I used the Christmas tree pattern as a backdrop.  What I like about this pattern is that it's all in shades of green.  That makes accessorizing on top of it much easier than if it were full of different colors.  I used a sharp, contrasting Samba red for the sentiment, border and embellishment to give this card front a unified look.  All of these things work together to balance out that busy pattern.  Also, a crisp white backdrop helped to keep this thin diecut sentiment from looking lost against the patterned paper.

Stamps: Holiday Charms, Yay Stripes (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Ink:  Samba, Midnight (Catheirne Pooler Designs), Copic markers.  Paper:  Love, Doves & Poinsettias, Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Accessories:  Holiday Charms dies, Silver Cord (Catherine Pooler Designs), Merry Christmas Layered Word Dies (Stamp of Approval Home for the Holidays Collection/CPD), star sequins, dimensional tape.

For my next card I pulled out the large circle patterned paper.  This pattern contains a couple different shades of green and two different shades of red.  I cut this pattern panel down to allow for a crisp, white, diecut border.  Even with the layers of white and vellum Nested Label dies in the center, there is still plenty of pattern showing through.  Adding the labels also creates a nice focal point for the sentiment and landing point for the embellishments.  I chose the snowman from the Holiday Charms stamp set  because he seemed to coordinate well with the circle theme of the paper.

Stamps:  Holiday Charms, Yay! Stripes (Catherine Pooler Designs), Festive Trimmings (Stamp of Approval Home for the Holidays Collection/CPD).  Ink: Samba, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs), Copic Markers.  Paper:  Love, Doves & Poinsettias, Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs), vellum cardstock (My Favorite Things).  Accessories:  Nested Label Dies, Postage Stamp Dies (Catherine Pooler Designs), silver thread, dimensional tape.

I completely covered my next card with patterns.  Pairing this beautiful green holly patterned paper with some stamped stripe borders created a festive backdrop.  The red berries in this paper coordinates beautifully with Catherine Pooler's new  Samba ink.   The sentiment becomes the focal point once again on a bright white tag.

Stamps:  Holiday Charms, Yay! Stripes (Catherine Pooler Designs), Holiday Mix (Stamp of Approval Home for the Holidays Collection/CPD).  Ink:  Samba, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs), Copic markers.  Paper:  Love, Doves & Poinsettias, Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Accessories:  Nested Label Dies, Gold Cord (Catherine Pooler Designs), gold sequins, dimensional tape.

For my final card today, I cut the actual Nested Labels die out of patterned paper and added it to a stamped Woodgrain Background.   The dark patterned paper pops off of the lighter background for a dramatic look.  A small white circle in the center holds the embossed and diecut sentiment without taking the focus away from that beautiful poinsettia paper.

Stamps:  Woodgrain Background, Yay!Stripes (Catherine Pooler Designs), Holiday Mix (Stamp of Approval Home for the Holidays Collection).  Ink:  Twilight, Samba (Catherine Pooler Designs), clear emboss (Versamark).  Paper:  Love, Doves & Poinsettias, Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Accessories:  Nested Label dies, Circles dies, Gold Cord (Catherine Pooler Designs), Joy Wreath dies (Stamp of Approval Winterhaven Collection/CPD), gold embossing powder (WOW!), gold sequins, dimensional tape.

All of the paper, ink, stamps and dies that I used today can be found in Catherine Pooler Design's online store (as listed under each photo).   Some of the items are from the
that is still available for a limited time.

Thanks so much for stopping by.   I hope I have encouraged you all to give some love to your patterned paper.  It can really be an asset to your cardmaking and the results can be beautiful!

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Rylee! Llama Party!

Hello friends!  Today I want to share a little card I made for a very special young lady in my life.  My niece Rylee is 12 years old today.  She's been making cards and crafting with me since she was 4 years old.  She knows the ins and outs of cardmaking and there is no one in the world who appreciates my cards as much as she does.  She ooohs and aaahs over them, then I can see her wheels turning.  "How did you do that Aunt Lisa?"   "Did you get some new stamps?"  "Is that a new Catherine Pooler color?"

For this reason, I am under a lot of pressure every year to produce a card that will knock her socks off!  She expects a lot from me and I think would be very disappointed if I didn't produce.  LOL!  So here goes.  If ever there were a birthday card that would win a "Most Products Used" contest, it would be this one!

Happy Birthday Rylee!

Stamps: Llama (Hero Arts), Bring on the Cake (Sugar Pea Designs), Birthday Balloon (Sunny Studio), Vintage Frames (The Ton), Holiday Charm (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Dies:  Llama (Hero Arts), Birthday Balloon (Sunny Studio),  Holiday Charm (Catherine Pooler Designs), Wood Floors (Penny Black), Balloon dies (Lil' Inker Designs),  Little Numbers (My Favorite Things).
Ink:  Lime Rickey, Party Dress, Sweet Sixteen, Tiara, It's a Girl, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs), Copic Markers.
Paper:  Premium White Cardstock (Catheirne Pooler Designs), Natural cardstock (My Favorite Things).
Accessories:  dimensional tape, clear sequins, diamond Stickles, white Gellyroll pen, Glossy Accents (Ranger).

Keeping the background neutral on this card allowed me to load it up with all the little party details without it looking cluttered.  Using Catherine Pooler Design's Party Collection  inks helped me to make the tone of this card bright and fun without worrying about clashing colors.

Adding subtle, little details like the age on the balloon, and sparkle around the frame finished off this card nicely.

OK, it's time to go hang out with my little Drama Llama and get this party started!!

Have a great day and happy stamping!

All The Trimmings Release Day with Catherine Pooler Designs

It's here!  It's finally release day over at Catherine Pooler Designs!

https://shop.catherinepooler.com/?aff=9

I think this has to be one of my favorite holiday releases.  The Holiday Charm stamp and die set is my absolute favorite, so cute!!  The little elf in the Santa Approved stamp set.....well, you just can't get any cuter than that.  And I love that there are new background stamps that can be used all year round but look fabulous for Christmas cards too! These and so much more are all available NOW!

Catherine is also debuting some new sequin mixes that I can't wait to get my hands on!

Introducing:

But the ink.  Oh those fabulous, glorious new ink colors!  Seriously, no one has been able to resist
Catherine Pooler Designs ink and these three brand new colors are no exception.  They're AH-MAZING!

So, today I want to share a card with you that focuses on those three gorgeous new colors.

Stamps:  Holiday Charm, Merry & Bright Boughs (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Ink:  Samba, Mardi Gras, Suede Shoes, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs), Copic markers.  Paper: Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Accessories:  Holiday Charm coordinating dies, Nested Label dies (Catherine Pooler Designs), silver twine, silver sequins, dimensional tape.

Oh my!  I still can't get over how bright and cheerful they all look together.  Here I just swiped the ink pads across a piece of  Catherine Pooler's Premium White Cardstock to create my own, custom colored cardstock.  With my paper trimmer, I cut a block of each color at an angle and then pieced them together, separating them a little with some white strips of cardstock.

I diecut one of the Nested Label dies to hold the sentiment and added a little snowman and holly leaves from the new Holiday Charm stamp and coordinating die set.

Just a reminder, there are three fun ways to get your name in the hat to win some extra spending money for the Catherine Pooler Designs store.  We've been hopping all week long and Catherine has loaded up the hops with $25 gift certificates.   All you have to do is hop along, check out the new projects and comment for your chance to win!  Each comment is like throwing your name in the hat.  Winners will be announced on Catherine Pooler's blog on Monday, October 22nd.

All The Trimmings Release Bloghop with Catherine Pooler Designs

Hi everyone and welcome to the

All The Trimmings Blog Hop

featuring brand new products by Catherine Pooler Designs.

Wednesday, October 17th is the big release day in Catherine's store, so today we're celebrating by hopping!   If you've been following along with Catherine you've seen all of these fun new products up close in her videos and on social media.  This is a big one folks!  So many fabulous new stamps and dies, ink colors and sequin mixes.  Even a gorgeous holiday paper pack.  All of these products mentioned today will be available tomorrow in the Catherine Pooler Designs shop.

Let's take a look!

For my first card today I'm using Catherine Pooler Design's brand new
Peace, Love and Doves Background stamp, along with a Peace sentiment from the
Seasonal Sentiments and Borders stamp set.   I embossed the background with white embossing powder on kraft cardstock and then colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I did some partial diecutting to create an edge using the largest die in the new Nested Labels Dies set.

Stamps: Peace, Love and Doves Background, Seasonal Sentiments and Borders (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Ink:  clear (Versamark).  Paper:  Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs), kraft cardstock.  Accessories:  Nested Labels Dies (Catherine Pooler Designs), Prismacolor Pencils, white embossing powder, silver embossing powder (WOW!), dimensional tape, clear sequins.

For my next card I kept it clean and simple by creating a tone on tone background using the Nested Label Dies and some of Catherine Pooler Design's Premium White Cardstock.  The center label is stamped with the "Joy" from the Seasonal Sentiments and Borders stamp set.   I colored the sweet little bird and poinsettia from the Holiday Charm Stamps and Holiday Charm coordinating dies and then popped them up with some dimensional tape.

Stamps:  Seasonal Sentiments and Borders, Holiday Charm (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Ink:  Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs), Copic markers.  Paper:  Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Accessories:  Nested Label Dies, Holiday Charm Coordinating Dies (Catherine Pooler Designs), dimensional tape, bakers twine.

My third card showcases that stunning Holly and Berries Cover Plate Die.  This die is just a fantastic way to add style to your holiday cards.  It cuts so smooth and easy.  Here you see I cut this out of  Premium White Cardstock and then did some light ink blending over the top with Catherine Pooler's Green Tea ink.  I like to blend after I diecut because it gives a little extra shading to the edges.  Once again I used the Nested Label Dies stamped with a sentiment from the Seasonal Sentiments and Borders stamp set.  I hooked on some adorable little candy canes and stamped the holly leaves from the Holiday Charm stamp set.  And how about that gorgeous new red ink Samba!!!  My new favorite red!!

Stamps:  Seasonal Sentiments and Borders, Holiday Charm (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Ink:  Samba, Green Tea, Midnight (Catheirne Pooler Designs).  Paper: Premium White, black cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Accessories:  Holly and Berries Cover Plate Die, Nested Label dies, Holiday Charm Coordinating dies (Catherine Pooler Designs), dimensional tape, clear sequins.

And for my final card today I got a little playful with my absolute favorite stamp set Holiday Charm!   There are so many adorable images in this stamp set and I loved that I could create a landscape scene.  That snowman just makes me smile!  I was able to mix in a little sentiment from an older stamp set by Catherine Pooler Designs  Holiday Mittens.  Perfect!  A added a little strip of the festive new 6x6 Love, Doves and Poinsettias patterned paper pack.

Stamps:  Holiday Charm, Holiday Mittens (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Ink:  It's a Boy, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Paper:  Premium White Cardstock, Love, Doves and Poinsettias (Catherine Pooler Designs).  Accessories:  Holiday Charm Coordinating dies (Catherine Pooler Designs), white acrylic paint, dimensional tape, diamond stickles.

Of course it wouldn't be a blog hop without a prize!  Comment to win for your chance at a $25 gift certificate to the Catherine Pooler Designs store!   For more chances to win and even more project ideas, you can join us by hopping along in the

The Ton's Fall 2018 Release Blog Hop

Happy World Card Making Day and welcome to
The Ton's Fall 2018 Release Blog Hop!

https://www.thetonstamps.com/collections/new-arrivals-1

Let's celebrate this awesome day with a Blog Hop and a chance to win some new goodies!
For today’s hop, there are giveaways on each stop so be sure to leave a comment on each blog for a chance to win a stamp set of choice from our new release!
The comment period for this giveaway will close on Monday, October 8 at 11:59pm EST.

For this release, The Ton has debuted 11 new stamps and a new pop up floral die.  There are free gifts with purchase and there’s also a little surprise for today since it is World Card Making Day. After you're done here, head over to
The Ton’s blog for more details.

Today I'm showcasing a few cards I made using some of The Ton's new stamps.  I'm including links to everything so if you want to shop while you hop just click on a link any time.

My first two cards feature a favorite of mine.

plus
Coordinating Dies

I love birds and this 4x6" stamp set is a perfect fit for my collection of feathered friends.  I used the small cardinal here to make the perfect couple.  There is a  Cardinal Friends Coordinating Die set  available and I highly recommend it.  They just make things so much easier if you're like me and don't enjoy fussy cutting.

Stamps:  Cardinal Friends, Minor Stripes Background (The Ton).   Ink:  Caviar, Valentine Red, Blue Diamond (The Ton), Copic Markers.    Paper:  110 lb white cardstock (Neenah).   Accessories:  Glass Slippers Mix (The Ton), natural twine, dimensional tape

My next card features the large cardinal in the set.  This bird can fill up a card all on it's own.  Here it works well with a sentiment from the new Coming up Poinsettias stamp set.

Stamps:  Cardinal Friends, Coming up Poinsettias (The Ton).   Ink:  Caviar, Hampton White, Blue Diamond (The Ton), Copic markers.  Paper:  110 lb white cardstock (Neenah), black cardstock.   Accessories:  Double Stitched Rectangles Lg dies, Geometric Circles Coverplate die (The Ton), Diamond Stickles, dimensional tape.

 Speaking of

 plus

For my next card I stamped the new 4x6"  Coming up Poinsettias stamp using The Ton's Rose Gold embossing powder.   I watercolored and cut them out with scissors but look for that coordinating die!!  The sentiment is from the new
Blizzard Hugs stamp set.

Stamps: Coming up Poinsettias, Blizzard Hugs, Outline Holiday Cones (The Ton).  Ink:  Everglade Moss, Noir (The Ton), clear emboss (Versamark), Colorbursts (Ken Oliver).  Paper: 140 lb watercolor (Canson), 110 white cardstock (Neenah).  Accessories: Double Stitched Rectangles Lg dies, Rose Gold Embossing powder (The Ton), clear embossing powder (WOW!).

I can't say enough great things about the new 6x8" stamp set

Blizzard Hugs
plus
Coordinating Dies

Holy cow!  This stamp set is huge! It has great sentiments in it too.  The one I chose for this card is my all time favorite!  I can guarantee all of my southern friends are going to be receiving some Blizzard Hugs from me this year.

Stamps: Blizzard Hugs (The Ton).  Ink: Noir (The Ton), clear emboss (Versamark), Colorbursts (Ken Oliver).  Paper: 140 lb watercolor (Canson), 110 lb white cardstock (Neenah).  Accessories: Double Stitched Rectangle Dies Lg (The Ton), white embossing powder (Ranger), Shimmer Spray.

By now you're probably thinking The Ton's new 2018 Fall Release is all about winter products.  Well you would be soooooooooo wrong!   There are some fabulous new florals in this release because well....it's The Ton!  We all know by now that Effie loves flowers and it's just not a Ton release without them.  Here is my favorite of the whole bunch....

Gardenia Wishes
plus
Coordinating Dies

I believe gardenias are traditionally white but most card makers know there are no rules when it comes to coloring florals!  I decided to paint mine yellow.   First I embossed these with white embossing powder on watercolor cardstock.  This 6x6" stamp set allows for a sizeable bouquet of gardenias.  This stamp is huge ladies!!
Stamps: Gardenia Wishes (The Ton).   Ink: Hampton White, Noir (The Ton), Kuretake Real Brush Watercolor Markers (Zig).   Paper: 140 lb watercolor (Canson), 110 lb white cardstock (Neenah).   Accessories: Double Stitched Rectangle dies Lg, Glass Slippers Mix (The Ton), bakers twine, white embossing powder (Ranger).

Well that's all for me today.  I'll cut you loose and let you get onto your hopping.
You know the drill.....leave a comment here before you leave.  What's your favorite stamp set so far?
