Today I'd like to give a shout out to this little guy for turning 7!!
It's hard to believe my great nephew Drue is 7 years old already! It seems like just yesterday.......
We celebrated on Sunday by going to watch him race in the state BMX competition. He won a trophy almost as big as he is! Then we took him out to dinner to his favorite restaurant. I'm thinking....burgers....pizza maybe..... But NO! This big 7 year old wanted to go out for Japanese! How did he know that's my favorite place too?
He likes to watch the chefs cook at the table. He has mastered
chopsticks and even ate his birthday ice cream with them. He loves
rice, veggies and steak, no wonder he has grown so fast! He also loved
it when the staff all came out and sang happy birthday to him.
This year he really liked the card I made for him too. Boy cards are hard for me but this lil' pup from Simon Says Stamp made it super easy this time. They offered this stamp as a free birthday gift last month. So cute! I stamped the pup and the pizza with The Ton's Copic friendly Couture Caviar Hybrid ink then used Copic markers to color both images.
Stamps: Favorite Puperoni (Simon Says Stamp), Birthday Wishes & Balloons, Birthday Chalkboard Greetings (My Favorite Things).
Ink: Fiesta Blue, Tiara, Lime Rickey (Catherine Pooler Designs), Caviar Hybrid (The Ton), Tumbled Glass Distress, Barn Door Distress, Pumice Stone Distress marker (Ranger), Copic markers.
Paper: Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs), Lipstick Red cardstock (Simon Says Stamp).
Accessories: Double Stitched Rectangle Large dies (The Ton), dimensional tape (3M), Action Wobbles Mini (Art Impressions).
I used one of Catherine Pooler's new stencils: Checker Board for the table cloth and those little balloons
are from the Birthday Wishes and Balloons set by My Favorite Things. I just drew the strings on with a grey distress marker.
I also added some fun action to this card to hold this little boy's attention for a little while. I attached an Art Impressions Action Wobbles piece to the center back of the puppy. Now when you flick his tail he shakes. It surprised me when Drue squeeled and started flicking away! He thought it was so cool. All I can say is he made his favorite card making aunt very happy!
Happy Birthday to my little puperoni Drue!
I love you!
Such a sweet sentiment and card. ❤️
