Introducing.......

Dearest Peony

https://www.thetonstamps.com/collections/new-arrivals-1

For my card today I brought out The Ton's gorgeous Rose Gold embossing powder and embossed this beautiful new Dearest Peony stamp. The background leaves are all solid so the Rose Gold really stands out on this card.  I used Kuretake watercolor markers to give this flower a soft vintage feel. I also embossed a Minor Stripes pattern on the card base with Rose Gold to coordinate with the flower image.

For this card I used the following supplies:
Stamps:  Dearest Peony, Pretty Mail, Minor Stripes (The Ton).
Ink:  Noir (The Ton), clear emboss (Versamark).
Paper:  Bristol watercolor, 110 lb solar white (Neenah), black cardstock.
Accessories:  Rose Gold embossing powder, Raspberry Sparkle Mix (The Ton), Kuretake real brush markers (Zig),   white embossing powder (WOW!), fun foam.

Here's a closer look at this stunning Rose Gold embossing powder and some perfectly coordinating sequins from the new:

Raspberry Sparkle Couture Mix

And now I'm super excited to show you this next stamp set.  It coordinates so perfectly with the Dearest Peony and embosses like a dream, hello.......

Pretty Mail

Isn't it gorgeous!?  For my envelopes I find that Copic markers work best so I found some similar colors to coordinate with my card colors.

How would your mom  like to open up her mailbox to see something this pretty?  Heck, you might even brighten up the mail carrier's day!

The Ton’s Spring 2017 Release - Day 2

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of The Ton's Spring Release 2017 event!

https://thetonstampsblog.com/2017/04/03/spring-2017-release-day-1

I'm so excited to be showcasing these awesome new stamps and dies on my blog this week.  I can't believe how many there are to chose from.  18 stamps sets and 13 dies sets!  And every one of them are crazy gorgeous!  Seriously, I can't wait to show them to you.  Of course we'll have those stunning florals that The Ton is so known for.  But you're going to be really blown away by the other sets.  They are so unique and fun.   It's a great mix!  Speaking of mix....there are also

There are also several gifts with purchases that you can obtain with this new release.*
Note:  These incentive products will not be available for purchase in our shop until May.

Now let's see some cards!!  Today I made two cards.  First up I'll be using this amazing new stamp set.......

Marvelous Perfumes

https://www.thetonstamps.com/collections/new-arrivals-1

I'll also be adding some sparkly new sequins from the:

Pink Diamond Couture Mix

https://www.thetonstamps.com/collections/new-arrivals-1

For this card I did some white heat embossing and some masking.  First I stamped with clear Versamark ink and embossed  the two bottles of perfume in the front.  Then I cut out a mask from masking paper and covered those two bottles to protect them.  Next,  I stamped the two bottles in the back, overlapping the first two.  I peeled back the masking paper and added white embossing powder to the back two bottles then heat set.   I added  watercolors with Kuretake real brush markers.

For this card I used the following supplies:
Stamps:  Marvelous Perfumes, Haute Stripes (The Ton).
Ink: Noir (The Ton), clear emboss (Versamark).
Paper:  Bristol watercolor, 110 lb solar white (Neenah).
Accessories:  Pink Diamond Sparkle Couture Mix (The Ton),  Kuretake clean color real brush markers (Zig), white embossing powder (WOW!), fun foam.

I have to say, I absolutely LOVE this stamp set!!  It was so fun to stamp.  There are also coordinating dies available with this set that I can't wait to get my hands on!

For my second card today I did some more water coloring with these beautiful Wildflowers:

https://www.thetonstamps.com/collections/new-arrivals-1

https://www.thetonstamps.com/collections/new-arrivals-1

Both of these sets of stamps coordinate so nicely.  First I stamped and colored the Wildflower Banner Stamp directly onto the watercolor paper.  Then I used some of the smaller flowers from the Wishful Wildflowers set to accent, by popping them up with dimensional tape.

For this card I used the following supplies:
Stamps:  Wishful Flowers, Wild Flower Banner, Haute Stripes (The Ton).
Ink:  Caviar, Iris Blooms (The Ton).
Paper:  Bristol watercolor, 110 lb solar white (Neenah).
Accessories:  Pink Diamond Sparkle Couture Mix (The Ton), Kuretake clean color real brush markers (ZIG), fun foam, dimensional tape (3M).

I added a little spotted texture to these flowers by dabbing the tip of a watercolor brush on top of the color, then quickly dabbing the surface with a paper towel.  This lifts the color nicely.

The Ton’s Spring 2017 Release - Day 1

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of The Ton's Spring Release 2017 event!

https://thetonstampsblog.com/2017/04/03/spring-2017-release-day-1

Spring is definitely in the air here in Illinois.   So far we've had a lot of April showers!  For my first release day card I'd like to share a little sunshine using this beautiful stamp set:

Sunflower Bouquet

https://www.thetonstamps.com/collections/new-arrivals-1

I started out by stamping these beautiful sunflowers with Lemon Drop dye ink and added clear embossing over the top.  This makes watercoloring much easier.  I used my Kuretake real brush watercolor markers to color this image, using light gray to add just a slight hint of a shadow around the edges. I made use of one of the smallest images in the the stamp set to add a textured stripe pattern along the bottom.

For this card I used the following supplies:
Stamps: Sunflower Bouquet (The Ton)
Ink:  Lemon Drop, Noir (The Ton), clear emboss (Versamark).
Paper:  watercolor (Bristol), 110 solar white cardstock (Neenah).
Accessories:  Belle's Dress Couture Mix (The Ton), Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush Markers (Zig).

I added texture to the center of the flowers using different shades of brown Kuretake watercolor markers.  I stamped the sentiment with The Ton's Noir dye ink.

I added some sparkle with one of the beautiful new mixes, Belle's Dress.

The Ton April Challenge - Anything Goes

Happy April Fool's day!  Don't worry, there's no fooling around going on here on my blog today.  Instead I'm kicking off my first assignment as an official member of The Ton's design team.  On the first day of every month The Ton hosts a challenge over on their Challenge Blog and we're hoping YOU join us for some cardmaking fun and the chance to win a
$50 gift certificate to The Ton by entering your card following this month's theme....Anything Goes!

https://thetonchallenge.wordpress.com/2017/04/01/april-challenge-417

Today I made a fun birthday card using this cute little Honey Bears stamp and die set, the Bokeh Burst Round stamp set, Scripty Greetings stamp set and one of my favorites, the Minor Stripes Cling Background stamp.  I love lining the edge of my cards with  black and white stripes.

For this card I used the following supplies:
Stamps:  Honey Bears, Bokeh Burst Round, Scripty Greetings, Minor Stripes Cling Background (The Ton).
Ink:  Rose Quartz, Soft Garnet, Red Sangria, Noir (The Ton).
Paper:  White 110 lb cardstock (Neenah).
Accessories:  Honey Bear Dies (The Ton), circle die, Stardust Stickles, twine, fun foam, Copic Markers, dimensional tape (3M).

When stamping the Bokeh Burst Round I rotated it a little each time I switched ink colors and it filled in nicely.  You can see I have incorporated all three colors from The Ton's
 Couture Color Ruby Collection:
Rose Quartz, Soft Garnet and Red Sangria.

There's a little party hat in the Honey Bears stamp set that I thought would make a cute, colorful banner.

Now it's your turn!  You have until April 30th to create and enter your cards over at The Ton Challenge Blog.  You can enter as many times as you like and you have a whole month to do it!!  Have fun!!

Reminder:

Join me here on Monday because it's Spring Release Week at The Ton.  Every day next week I'll be posting cards  using their brand new line of stamps.  Stop by and take a look!

Until then......

Have a great weekend and Happy Stamping!

Spring is in the air with exciting news!

Hi everyone!   Happy Spring!  April showers have started a bit early here in northern Illinois so there is a lot happening in my flower garden.  I have daffodils and tulips and crocuses sprouting up everywhere.  One of my favorite flowers are tulips and I look forward to cutting a bouquet of them every year to brighten up my kitchen table.  The only thing that makes me sad is they don't bloom for very long and then I have to wait a whole year before I see them again.   Not anymore!  Check out this gorgeous layered
Fresh Cut Tulips stamp set by The Ton
Now I can have my tulips all year long!  ;)

Fresh Cut Tulips

The first thing I did with this set was make a card to share with a fellow tulip lover...my mom!

For this card i used the following supplies:
Stamps:  Fresh Cut Tulips, Minor Stripes, Bokeh Burst Round (The Ton).
Inks:  soft garden, bright fern, deep emerald, rose quartz, soft garnet, red sangria (The Ton).
tiara (Catherine Pooler Designs), duckling (Simon Says Stamp), butterbar (Hero Arts), clear emboss (Versamark).
Paper:  Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs)
Accessories:  fools gold embossing powder (WOW!), dimensional tape (3M), sequins, twine, fun foam.

My most used stamp from The Ton is the Minor Stripes cling background stamp.  There is just something about a floral and stripe combination that catches my eye.

I originally stamped this floral bouquet for a one layer card but I changed my mind and decided to do a little fussy cutting so I could create a more dimensional bouquet.  There is also a coordinating die set that is available for these tulips and I think they just made it to the top of my wish list.

Now I would love to share some exciting news with you!   As of today I'm officially part of The Ton's fabulous design team!  I'm so excited and honored for this opportunity to work with Effie and her amazing group of artists.  If you haven't checked out The Ton's blog The Season yet, hop on over there and check it out today.  You'll see some gorgeous projects using The Ton's stamps and die sets.  Keep your eyes peeled, there's a brand new spring release in the works so I'll be back to share a whole bunch of new cards with you soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Have a great weekend and Happy Stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays The Challenge - No Dies Allowed!

It's The Challenge time again over at CAS-ual Fridays!  This week we're kicking dies to the curb!  The Challenge is to make a card with only one rule: No Dies Allowed!

http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/2017/03/cfc170-no-dies-allowed.html

For my card this week I used the following stamps  from CAS-ual Fridays:

Zigs & Zags, Thanks, Sassy Smiles:

http://cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/products/zigs-zags   http://cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/products/thanks   http://cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/products/sassy-smiles

To start off my card I got busy with some Zigs & Zags.  I stamped continuously until I achieved a large area that I could cut out using my scissors.  This cutout piece offered the perfect backdrop for a BIG sentiment from the Thanks stamp set.  I popped this piece up on the card base with a little fun foam for some great dimension.

For this card I also used the following supplies:
Ink: Tiara, Lime Rickey, Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Paper:  Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories:  twine, fun foam, ebony black Nuvo Crystal Drops.

From the Sassy Smiles stamp set I added a few little stamped asterisk symbols (or flowers, whichever you prefer) for fun, along with some Nuvo Crystal Drops.  Then I topped it off with a black and white twine bow.

I hope you'll play along with us for your chance to win!

http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/2017/03/cfc170-no-dies-allowed.html

All you have to do is make your own card with No Dies Allowed,  then link it up over on the

I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Have a great weekend and happy stamping!

Having fun with Paper Smooches

Hi everyone!   This week  I thought I'd pull out some of my Paper Smooches stamps and dies to create a few cards.  Paper Smooches is calling for an April guest designer so I thought it would be fun to play along and show them some love by making three cards.

First I made this card using the Roses die set.  This set comes with two different sizes of roses so I started by cutting out a  mask in each size from just a piece of cardstock.   I used the masks to do some ink blending directly onto the card front.  I moved the masks around to fill in most of the card where I wanted my roses to be.  Then I diecut 5 roses in white.  When I glued them on top of the blended areas I was sure to offset them a little bit for some added interest.  I diecut some leaves and stems and just fit them into the blank areas around the roses, like a puzzle.  I made sure to leave a little room for this cute sentiment from the Uplifters sentiment stamp set.

For this card I also used the following supplies:
Ink: abandoned coral, worn lipstick (Ranger Distress).
Paper:  watercolor 140 lb (Canson), Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories:  Gelatos, white Pitt Pen (Faber-Castell).

I used a Faber-Castell white Pitt Pen to add some finishing touches onto the roses to give them a whimsical feel.

For my next card I stamped a whole bunch of butterflies using my favorite ink colors by Catherine Pooler Designs.    This Graceful Beauties butterfly stamp set is so fun to stamp. Look at those gorgeous clean, crisp images!

For this card I also used the following supplies:
Ink:  lime rickey, tiki torch, party dress, flirty fuchsia, fiesta blue, midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Paper:  Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories:  Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner dies (My Favorite Things), ebony Nuvo Crystal Drops, dimensional tape (3M).

I spotlighted this cute little giggle sentiment from the Uplifters sentiment stamp set using a stitched banner die and some dimensional tape.

And here's one more card using one of my favorite sentiment dies Happy Birthday Words.  The stenciled balloons on the background of this card make the perfect backdrop for this cheerful birthday diecut.  A few black floating hearts from the Graceful Beauties stamp set are a great little element to accent the bold black sentiment.

For this card I also used the following supplies:
Stamps:  Striped Background (My Favorite Things).
Ink: squeezed lemonade, picked raspberry, twisted citron, spiced marmalade (Ranger Distress), onyx black (Versafine).
Paper:  doll pink (Simon Says Stamp), Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories:  Blueprints #15 (My Favorite Things), black pen, fun foam.

To make this sentiment pop off the card a little more I glued together two layers cut with black cardstock.  Just that simple trick adds wonderful dimension to this card.

Well, that's all for today.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
 Take care and  Happy Stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays The Challenge - Off The Edge!

It's The Challenge time again over at CAS-ual Fridays!  This week we're going Off The Edge!

http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/2017/03/cfc169-off-edge.html

For my card this week I used the following stamps and dies from CAS-ual Fridays:

Mon Ami Stamps and Mon Ami Fleur dies

http://cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/products/mon-ami    http://cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/products/mon-ami-fleur-fri-dies

For my card today I took my top layers of watercolored Mon Ami  flowers "off the edge" of my card.  I watercolored the green background and the flowers using 140 lb watercolor paper and Faber-Castell's Gelatos.  This is my first time watercoloring and distressing with Gelatos and I am super impressed with the vibrant colors.

I also used the following supplies:
Ink: clear emboss (Versamark), Midnight (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Paper:  watercolor paper 140 lb (Canson), Premium White Cardstock (Catherine Pooler Designs).
Accessories:  metallic platinum sparkle embossing powder (WOW!), gold glitter pen (Gellyroll), Gellatos (Faber-Castell).

This Mon Ami stamp set embossed beautifully using a platinum sparkle embossing powder.  The embossing really helps to keep your watercolors contained in the image.  No seeping out of the lines.

I hope you'll play along with us for your chance to win!
